While the online presence of educational institutions continues to gain in importance, the value of their printed marketing pieces remain a key component for recruitment. MG has been tapped to develop an 82-page catalog that serves as both an informational piece about the jewelry industry as well as an influential recruitment tool for GIA’s leading school of gemology. Development is underway with completion scheduled for December 2008.</p>

Creative development was guided by extensive customer research and a desire to harmonize the two brands that now fall under common ownership. New positioning strategies and messaging developed by MG partner, Innoveda Marketing, served as the strategic foundation for MG’s creative efforts. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Temecula Valley’s growing travel and tourism sector was further strengthened today as a new brand for the region was introduced by the Temecula Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and MG. “Southern California Wine Country” debuted to several hundred Temecula Valley businesses and local media at the Temecula Valley Community Theatre. Intended to unify and promote the diverse offerings of the region, the new brand was a result of a year-long initiative by the CVB and MG that included strategic brand positioning, creation of a new identity and development of comprehensive writing and graphic standards. “Temecula Valley is a unique destination that offers a wine country setting in a Southern California locale. Our creative development was inspired not only by the richness surrounding winemaking, but by the relaxed attitude and sunny weather of Temecula Valley,” said Tracy Meiners, Art Director at MG. The CVB plans to rollout the brand over the next few months assisted by a 66-page Branding Guide developed by MG.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now that the phone call has been verified to not be a prank, it’s official – Ron Miriello will be in New York City on September 18 to receive an AIGA Fellow award.</p>
<p>The Fellow award program is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community as well as in their local AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership and reputation, as well as the practice of design are given equal consideration. The San Diego AIGA nominated Ron for his three decades of contributions to the Southern California design community.</p>
<p>The fifth annual Design Legends Gala will be held at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on September 18. Also attending will be Ron’s wife Marlane and his son Ben, now attending Sarah Lawrence College in New York. Also receiving a Fellow award from San Diego is MaeLin Levin from Visual Asylum.</p>

<p>Miriello Grafico (MG), a San Diego branding and graphic communications firm and LJG Partners (LJG), an interactive marketing firm, have formed a strategic alliance to better serve clients by aligning MG’s branding leadership with LJG’s online implementation to provide a true integrated branding service.</p>
<p>Fueling the alliance is LJG’s recent move into The Logan, an office building in Barrio Logan designed by Jonathan Segal and renovated by MG in 2007. What was once a marine supply warehouse in a forgotten downtown neighborhood is quickly becoming the new creative center in an area undergoing widespread renewal. “LJG sees what we see in the neighborhood – a solid and rich community culture and history, easy access and a growing group of risk-taking pioneers who are committed to leading by example,” said Ron Miriello.</p>
<p>The creative collaboration allows two forward-thinking firms the ability to provide more integrated solutions. “Brand development is Miriello Grafico’s core competency; executing the brand online is where LJG thrives – there are natural synergies for business development as corporate internal marketing departments shrink and our clients need assistance in both creating and executing their brand initiatives,” said John Greer, President of LJG.</p>
